           5 inpatient hospital beds in the Surgery Infirmary Ward
           2 inpatient operating rooms, Monday, Wednesday, Friday
           1 outpatient operating room
           Surgery emergency room
           Surgery outpatient department

           Average of 15 surgical consultants
           Average of 14 surgical residents

           With rotating medical interns and clerks (from Pamantasan ng Maynila College of Medicine)

· Model in governance in a Department of Surgery

· Model in surgical education and training for staff (consultants, residents, medical students and parasurgical personnel)

Considering our vision, we pledge to develop the Department of Surgery of Ospital ng Maynila such that it will:

· serve as a model in quality governance, service, training and research

· Constantly provide quality service to clients consulting at the hospital, particularly the Manilans, who are in need of surgical management.

           To provide quality surgical service to all Manilans at the lowest possible cost to the city of Manila as well as to the patients.

 

Objectives

· To provide quality training for its staff with the view of ensuring provision of quality service.

· To provide quality research among its staff with the goal of ensuring provision of quality service

· To conduct public health education on prevention of surgical disorders as well as on promotion and maintenance after treatment of surgical disorders.
